I don't know how I can go back to conventional platforms, conventional journalists, scribes, bathroom stall artists, etc–there is simply so much value in Demi's posts. Kudos to all the linked authors and commentators that help make the piece special, as special as any of her pieces.

LOL at “bathroom stall artists!” Seriously though, thank you so much, Jack!! I’m so honored!! I have so much fun putting these together and I love the combination of perspective, wisdom, commentary, and humor that everyone brings! 🙏🏻💜💫

Glad that you and Charlotte are calling out Virginia Slims feminism. It's a major topic of my book. And now we have trad wives begging to do all the housework and childcare, and deliver a crisp martini at the door, so they can be their grandmothers--with twice the mortgage hanging over their heads.

Feminism went the wrong way getting women to serve investor profits. It should have released men from that role and enabled them to also serve the family and community. I don't know whether not complying as an individual helps or just puts your house back on the market. But the opportunity to change the system is coming. I'll be writing about that in a SOTU 2050 address but here's my recent one on The Myth of the Terrible Mother: https://thirdparadigm.substack.com/p/michael-tsarion-myth-of-the-terrible.

I am an advocate for the film "Into the Night" by John Landis. Weird and wild and of its era.

Linda Blair and other cast members of "The Exorcist" read extensively from Malachi Martin. _Windswept House_ as well as his non-fiction.

If you’re a fan of Twin Peaks music, check out Julee Cruise.

She’s also on the Blue Velvet soundtrack. Gorgeous voice.

Substack is becoming nearly unusable at this point. Had to come here through a bookmark rather than my email to post a comment. And so it goes.

Thank you for your tireless efforts Demi! 🙏💖

I just love these, Demi. ❤️ I love getting a glimpse at convos you've had that I've missed and I also love that I get to laugh all over again at stuff I've already laughed a lot at...so really it's just the gift that keeps on giving. 🤣

Ha! I love it! I normally don't feel educated enough in these topics to comment, but always an enlightening read. Thanks!

I'm optimistic that humanity moving backwards might be an illusion after all. It happens because TIME CURATES. Mostly the best works are preserved, and lots of trash are discarded.

Yes, it's still virtually impossible to out-joke Aristophanes; but we forget that barely any decent humor is preserved from the next five centuries until Apuleius.

For a more recent example: everyone knows The Beatles. Barely anyone remembers Bay City Rollers (yes, look it up :).

Demi, I am sending a big hug for your mind! Far too often women are underestimated- that is a terrible mistake- as is underestimating their intellectual acumen. The simple fact is, women’s corpus callosum is generally more extensive than men’s. Since this section of the brain connects and coordinates between right brain/left brain ‘demi’-hemispheres(Lol- a hug for your brain here!), it stands to reason that women reason far more effectively, and reasonably, than do most men. That people who vote epically fail to recognize this is a missed educational opportunity, imho. Frankly, after 50years in the work force, I have less trouble recalling all the Martinets, egomaniacs, megalomaniacs and just olain arseholes I suffered under. Whereas it is a very easy task to recall the lone wacky woman I once worked for- and even she was tame in comparison to men, whose list of offenses might have has a man less versed in battle theory using cognitive reasoning as I am. I have learned that men whi seek after power are not to be trusted, whereas women- inexplicably, perhaps- seek more after understanding, collaboration, inclusion, and education, rather than throwing the baby out with the bathwater. So, again, I send a hug for your big, sexy brain, and one for your illuminative mind. #MarianneWillaimsForPresident
