The opening LLM generated graphic of the Ministry of Silly Walks featuring a triskelion three legged man as seen on the flags of Sicily and the isle of Man is exceptional. "Sorry I'm late but my walk has gotten rather more silly lately." Yes.
Ah girl, I'm sending you big love here for the shout out. Currently I'm mind-mapping pin on paper and that has been helpful. But ive grown adverse to sitting behind my desktop and sticking to routines. It's also the weather. And my mental health. And the nazis. And the patriarchy. And inflation. And...
Well, it's a good thing you now know so you can be on the look-out for it. It has a tendency to sneak up on ya and start singin' in your ear. <<<shudder>>>
I live for “Tower” moments. Most fear them but they are just blocks from your path that need removing and catapult you to the greatness of who you can be! 🌟 🚀 Bring it on, Biotch! 😜
Bouncing off the walls with excitement about making it onto this mag list! Mike and I had an absolute blast with our poems. Just two wild poets jamming out with words, making sweet, sweet music. One of those golden, unforgettable moments in life. Connecting soul to soul through poetry? Pure bliss. Heaven on earth, baby!
I loved so much that it not only alleviated any writer's block but also became inspiration for additional creation! That made me so happy! Thanks to you both!! Cheers!! <3
Marilyn Manson's live album, The Last Tour on Earth, which also has the coolest cover of his career—just literally a burning cross on stage, so shockingly direct—is one of the best albums of his career, and probably just all rock. It gives you the experience of the ritual this guy was doing on-stage, and the songs sound great and are both greatest-hitsy and deep cuts, as well. Just really superior stuff, but I'm with you; for every this one and Elliott Smith magical live recording, there's an Iron Maiden album where it sounds like they sped it up in real-time.
Not to mention Nirvana Unplugged, man! But again, yeah. Audio quality isn't something I often pay attention to, and it often adds to the aesthetic when it's bad, for me, in a similar way to what you said about the ambience.
YES! Oh, my God, that’s the best song! And those shouts of “Hey!!” are what really makes it work. His stuff is a miracle. A Dark miracle, maybe.
Yeah, you know, it’s tough, because he’s just such a genius (the entire *album* feels like the same kind of ritual set-up as that song), and the music is so good, and as you pointed out with “The Fight Song,” the lyrics are so good. I’ve thought about how Nazi-ish it sounds, before, and it’s just like, “Can I like good art that seems to hate me?” Or criticize, etc.
I went many times. I grew up in South Florida where they had started out and played most often. But that specific show was when I realized it. So, I had been going to shows of theirs for two years by that point.
Cool that you caught it so early on, his energy must have been intense, back then. I often wonder about how much you can be sort of ironically listening to a message. I remember saying that Lady Gaga was making fun of the idea of being materialistic with her music, but at what point is it just materialism? And the point, I think, is the obvious irony, which is there, so then, at what point is the obvious irony on the listener?

🤣🤣🤣🤣
"I think context is being removed from discourse intentionally."
I like this line a lot, and the rest of the piece.
Thank you! :)
I love seeing your posts! Your writing inspires me!
Thank you so much!! :)

Have you tried NOT adding to that list?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
Does that world even exist anymore 🫠🤪
Hahahaha!
Awesomeness!!! I love when you do these.
PS. I HATE yacht rock. 🥳
Bahahahahahaha!!! I literally had no clue what the hell it even was!!! I made fun of them so hard that I made them a Yacht Rock station!!! LMFAO!!!
🤣🤣🤣

LMFAO!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I know, I know...."But Jac!! Steely Dan are REALLY great musicians!"
Great. Please go waaaaaaay over there when you make sounds. 🤣
Hahahahahaha!!! I love this, I hate this, and some of it, I hate that I love it. I'm having very complex musical emotions right now. 🤣🤣🤣
hahahahahaha!!! I love that about you.🤣🤣🤣
As always, these are both fun to read, and make me think! Thank you Demi.
Thank you so much!! :)

Now that I know what they are, I've stopped caring when they happen. I used to resist it. Not anymore! <3
Let’s goooo! 💃🏻

I saw Mike’s poem in NOTES and had to reply. Like driven to play with his idea.
Thanks for the shout out. Really appreciate your including me.
Of course! I had no idea - I just happened upon both poems and it was such a wonderful surprise!! <3

I agree completely. Go to the parts about Manson and about Astroworld in this piece: https://www.starfirecodes.com/p/this-is-a-culling-the-nine-satanic

Being there, in it, realizing the joke's on you is just surreal. Also, I was 17 at the time. I was thinking, "How does no one else GET this?!"
Whoa, you actually went to the concert? That must have been awesome. You were way ahead of your time to have had awareness about that.

Everything Monty Python did was prescient and is playing out today. Oh I wish they were practicing their fine craft in 2020s 🙏🙏🙏
Anything any of them touched was absolute gold. :)
I've never been more fascinated, horrified, and amused at the same time as by that Monty Python clip, haha! Thanks for including me!
That's my favorite EVER sketch of theirs. LOL!
My pleasure!! Of course!! :)
Love it!
I looked up "Yacht Rock" and the Wikipedia page stated Vaporware is a derivative. I think someone's havin' a gaff.
Any sailors in the audience? No? Shit.
LOL. This explains at least PART of it. Some of the SFC team sails.
